The Mage-OS Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors and overseen by an independent Business Control Committee. Our leaders represent diverse countries, stakeholder types, and decades of Magento ecosystem expertise.
Built on Transparency and Accountability
Mage-OS was founded in Poland in September 2022 by community leaders committed to ensuring a vibrant future for the Magento ecosystem. We operate as a registered non-profit association with democratic principles at our core.
Democratic Elections
Board members are elected annually at the General Assembly, where every Association member has an equal vote.

Our board represents agencies, extension vendors, hosting providers, and freelancers from across the globe.

Monthly financial updates, annual audits, and public reporting through the Business Control Committee.

Michiel Gerritsen
PresidentChairs board meetings, represents the Association externally, and provides strategic leadership.
Founder of Control Alt Delete and MageDispatch.com. Over a decade of Magento experience, including projects for Mollie and PostNL, specializing in checkout flows and automated testing. Active open source contributor and frequent speaker in the Magento community.

David Lambauer
Vice PresidentSupports the President, leads initiatives, and assumes presidential duties when needed.
Founder and CEO of run_as_root GmbH, specializing in high-quality Magento 2, Hyva, and Shopware development. Adobe Certified Master Architect, long-time open-source contributor, creator of the Mage-OS DevDocs, and frequent speaker at industry events. Brings strategic focus on quality, community collaboration, and long-term sustainability.

Jan Orleański
TreasurerOversees financial management, budgeting, and ensures fiscal responsibility.
With several years of experience as a Project Manager in eCommerce and open‑source initiatives, focused on budgeting, delivery oversight, and cross‑team coordination. Experienced in managing complex Magento/Adobe Commerce projects, ensuring transparency, cost control, and alignment with business goals, while supporting sustainable growth of community‑driven organizations like Mage‑OS.

John Prendergast
ActuaryManages risk assessment, long-term planning, and organizational sustainability.
Over 30 years of experience leading web technology businesses, delivering projects for global brands including Apple, Calvin Klein, HP, and Lidl. Co-founder and director of Aonach.com, a specialist Magento Open Source agency based in Ireland. A long-time advocate for open source power and community strength, committed to the Magento ecosystem's growth and sustainability.

Ben Marks
USA
Ben Marks is a longtime Magento evangelist, founding Magento Association board member, educator, speaker, and open source advocate. He has spent more than a decade helping shape and grow the global Magento ecosystem through community engagement, education, and ecosystem development.
Ruggero Landolina
Italy
20 years of experience in e-commerce development, specializing in scalable and high-performance solutions on Magento 2, Laravel, and WordPress. As an e-commerce consultant, provides targeted strategies to optimize online presence and increase revenue. Actively contributes to the Mage-OS community, supporting innovation in open-source e-commerce.
Luke Collymore

Luke Collymore is the Managing Director of Develo, an eCommerce agency he has led since 2009. With a background in Computer Science and over 20 years of web development experience, Luke combines deep technical expertise in A.I, PHP, Magento, and Hyvä with a passion for delivering high-performance eCommerce solutions.

The BCC provides independent oversight, ensuring accountability and transparency in all Association operations.

Financial Oversight
Reviews financial statements and budget to ensure responsible stewardship of funds.
Governance Review
Ensures the Board follows proper procedures and adheres to Association bylaws.
Member Advocacy
Acts as an independent voice for members, raising concerns on their behalf.

Laura Folco
BCC MemberWorking with Magento since 2010 as a freelancer. Instructor for Adobe (formerly Magento U) since 2017, teaching the fundamentals of Magento 2 development.
